Volunteers are a valuable assest to the MacLaren. If you're interested in contributing to our community, learning more about the arts, or perhaps gaining office and administrative experience, then join our team of volunteers. All kinds of volunteer opportunities are available at the MacLaren, from office work, to leading tours, to helping organize and run events and more!

• Regular volunteer programme lets you choose your area of involvement from any of the positions listed below.
• Student volunteer programme offers students the opportunity to gain their 40 hours of community involvment through any of the positions below or to become involved through your high school's co-op program.

Volunteer Opportunities

Gallery Shop – assist with sales, display design, stock merchandise and provide our friendly MacLaren customer service while obtaining valuable retail experience.

Greeter Programme – oversee reception of visitors to the MacLaren. Greeters welcome and inform the visitor about the gallery, exhibitions and upcoming events while learning the basics of administrative duties.

Special Events – have fun planning and participating in the MacLaren Art Centre special events on site and in the community.    

Openings Committee – plan and assist with gallery openings by preparing food, planning special features and socializing with visitors.  

Office Assistance – office support can include filing, data entry, bulk mailings, record keeping or your special business knowledge. Particular computer skills would be an asset.

Co-op Students – the MacLaren Art Centre offers co-op programmes with our Education Department and our Volunteer Services Department. Please have your teacher contact the Peter Bogle at 705.721.9696
