The MacLaren Art Centre is a Recommending Institution for the Ontario Arts Council’s Exhibition Assistance Program. Professional artists residing in Region 5* with a confirmed public exhibition may apply to the MacLaren Art Centre for an Exhibition Assistance Grant between $500 and $1500. Applications will be considered according to the criteria set forth by both the Ontario Arts Council and the MacLaren Art Centre.

In addition to the requirements set forth by the Ontario Arts Council, applications will be considered based on the following criteria:

• Evidence of artistic excellence is required
• Priority will be given to solo exhibitions in public galleries or artist-run-centres.
• Exhibitions should be accompanied by a reasonable budget outlining project costs and the amount requested from the OAC.
• Preference will be shown towards exhibitions of new media, photography, conceptual art and other non-traditional media.
• The MacLaren Art Centre aims to support emerging talent, regardless of age.
